Principal consultant Peter Dykstra has over 25 years experience designing systems and practices to help organizations communicate more effectively.
As director of product information for a major data processing firm he managed technical publishing strategy supporting clients in the advertising and broadcast industries throughout North America and Europe. He's also worked as a journalist, teacher, tech writer, editor and information architect.
Since 2004 his focus has been on developing cost-efficient solutions for content management and web publishing using open-source technology. He founded MetaphorX in 2007.
Peter has managed and mentored tech writing teams; taught structured writing methodologies; introduced user-centered design and usability testing for software development; developed corporate Web sites, software documentation standards, automated publishing systems, and topic-based Windows and Web Help systems. He has worked with clients in life sciences, education, law, and non-profits; and is a member of the Society for Technical Communication, the Association for Computing Machinery, and Content Management Professionals.
